Definitions

1. Children:
A child is defined as being 14 years or under at the time of booking, and an adult is defined as 15 years and over. Preferably max 2 children to 1 Adult. If you'd like to take a group of children out please contact us and we'll happily discuss this.
2. Tour Boarding:
We load from the east side of the harbour from steps that go to the waters edge at most states of tide. On occasion it may be necessary to use a ladder or life boat slipway. We will always use the easiest and safest method.

3. Cancellations by Riptide:
Riptide reserves the right to cancel or alter the times of all rib trips without notice. This can be due to a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, changing weather and sea conditions, technical reasons, crew availability, or lack of minimum passenger numbers.
When booking, a contact tel number and email address must be provided as we will advise you of any cancellations. It is your responsibility to check for messages from us on the day of your trip.
Boats will only run if there is a minimum of 4 spaces booked.

4. Refunds following cancellations by Riptide:
If we cancel for any reason for example due to weather or for logistical reasons then we will either offer an alternative or a full refund. In the case of a voucher we will extend its validity period.

5. Cancellations by you, the customer:
If a customer cancels a booking, relevant cancellation fees will be applied in accordance with our cancellation policy as follows:
Cancellation notice less than 24 hours - zero refund
Cancellation notice less then 48 hours - 50% refund
Cancellation notice greater than 48 hours - 100% refund

This applies to all types of cancellations, including medical or covid related cancellations.

No refunds are given for any late comers or no shows.
6. Gift Vouchers:
Gift vouchers can only be validated upon collection of a ticket from Rock House. You must contact Rock House prior to sailing to check availability and to confirm your booking, preferably 24 hours or more in advance.

7. Medical conditions:
Please note that all boats can experience unpredictable movements that can aggravate existing medical conditions. You must inform us of such conditions, especially back/bone conditions and pregnancy. We will advise you as best we can but as we are not medical experts the decision as to whether to sail will be entirely yours at your own risk. The skipper may refuse boarding in certain circumstances. In such cases refunds will be at our discretion.
8. Clothing:
Please note it is essential that you dress appropriately; take warm clothing at any time of year, as it is often cooler at sea. In all conditions we advise warm windproof clothing and in windy/wet conditions a waterproof jacket and trousers. You must wear suitable clothing to board our vessel. The skipper may refuse boarding if you are not suitably dressed and in such an event no refund will be given, and in the case of a voucher it will become invalid.

9. Cameras etc.:
You are welcome to bring cameras and bags containing personal effects, but at your own risk.
10. On Board:
Please take notice of informed safety procedures, a quick briefing will be given on safety systems onboard and how to operate the supplied life jacket. Please do not move around. Unless directed by the crew/skipper.
11. Photos etc.:
We reserve the right on occasion to take photographs for use in our own publicity
12. Arrival:
You must allow plenty of time to check in at our booking office at Rock House Please arrive at least half an hour prior to the scheduled departure time. Passengers must be ready to board the vessel 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Please do not go down steps to waters edge unless instructed to do so. If you miss your vessel because you are late then no refund will be given. In the case of a voucher it will become invalid.
13. Misc:
You must not board whilst intoxicated in any form. You are responsible for your own conduct and for the conduct of anyone you have actual or implied responsibility over. The skipper has the right to refuse boarding in certain circumstances, refunds will be at our discretion and vouchers may become invalid. Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee the nature of the wildlife sightings on any given tour. The sea is a dangerous and ever changing environment and all adventurous activities carry certain risks that cannot be ignored. We do not, therefore, accept any responsibility for any events or incidents occurring outside our control. If you have any doubts, or concerns please contact our booking office and our office staff will do their best to answer any questions that you may have at this time. We reserve the right to change or amend these terms and conditions, without notice at any time. Any changes or amendments made will take immediate effect and supersede any previous terms and conditions.
